Turning - sústruženie

Turning , is the process used to produce cylindrical components in a lathe. It can be done manually, or using a CNC machine.
At turning a cylindrical workpiece is rotated and a cutting tool is moving in carriage. Turning can be either on the outside of the cylinder or on the inside to produce tubular components to various geometries. The main part sof lathe are 3 or 4 jaw chuck, cutting tool, carriage and tail stock. At turning, there are 3 movements, rotational motion of workpiece, sliding motion and infeed motion of tool. There are a lot of type sof cutting tools e.g. cut - off tool, left or right - hand turning tool, left or right - hand facing tool and many more.
