This report was created for strategic planners, international executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the Slovak market for automatic money-changing machines and vending machines for goods such as postage stamp, cigarette, food, and beverage. Items sold via vending machine vary by country. For example, some countries sell alcoholic beverages such as beer through vending machines, while other countries do not allow this (usually because of dram shop laws). With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Therefore the young market for vending machines in Slovakia can be very wantable for international vending machine operators.
1. In Slovakia, most vending machines are operated either by store owners, or by individuals who buy or rent several machines, stock the merchandise, and keep some of the profits. First and the most important fact for foreign operators is that the number of store owners who own such vending machines is very small. Secondly, there is also very low range of products which are sold via vending machines. The most frequent products are beverages, snacks, newspapers and condoms. For all that, Slovak market for vending machines offers huge chances for other competitors.
